Welcome to Redis “Beyond Cache” Hackathon taking place in Bangalore, India. Registration is open to any and all developers with the desire to explore and create new, innovative applications, or integrations.

As participants in this hackathon, you and your team will:

  • Learn how to build differentiated solutions with the world’s fastest database
  • Push the boundaries of Redis beyond cache to include event-driven architecture, new Redis modules, or new Redis integrations
  • Develop a prototype with hands-on assistance from Redis experts representing Redis Labs and others
  • Own any IP that you develop during the Hackathon.
  • Win cool prizes and pick-up SWAG.

WHO CAN ENTER?

Are you a developer interested in event-driven architecture, new Redis Modules or new Redis integrations? Bring your ideas and we will help you form a team to build your prototype in 8 hours. The following are encouraged to participate:

1st Place – 3,00,000 INR
2nd Place – 1,50,000 INR
3rd Place – 75,000 INR

ELIGIBLE CATEGORIES
Applications qualified to participate in this hackathon must demonstrate how Redis can be used ‘Beyond Cache’ and fit into one of the following categories:

  1. Event-driven Architecture – An application using Redis Streams, Pub/Sub or Queues (Lists) that demonstrates an effective use of Event-driven Architecture
  2. Redis Modules-focussed – An application using RediSearch, RedisGraph, RedisJSON, RedisTimeSeries, RedisBloom (and also the newer RedisAI & RedisGears) in a compelling way
  3. Integrations, Plug-ins, Clients & Frameworks – Leverage or Create new code to extend Redis to integrate with other APIs, services or datastores

JUDGING CRITERIA
The Judges will score eligible Submissions using the following equally weighted criteria:

  • Quality of the Idea (Includes creativity and originality of the idea) – 10 pts
  • Design (Includes the user experience and visual design of the idea) – 10 pts
  • Technical Implementation (includes how well the idea was executed by the developer) – 10 pts

The Maker(s) that are eligible for a Prize, and whose Submissions earn the highest overall scores based on the applicable Judging Criteria, will become potential winners of that Prize.

  • 1700-1800       Present to Judges – 3 minutes each, plus Q&A – Select 3 Finalists
  • 1800-Late        Finalists continue Hacking  

DAY ONE OUTCOME: 3 Teams Selected as Finalists will present at the end of Redis Day
